Destination: Idaho Nampa Mission.
Departure Date: April 30th, 2014
Before I go into my decision to serve, Who am I?
My name is Abigail Jane Wasden. Don’t be misled by my size.
I’m a whole 5 feet of fun. I have east coast flair with southern manners.
Strange combination, yes, but I was born in New Jersey, soon after I spent 9
years in Houston, Texas where I learned my southern manners. In the eighth
grade, my family moved back to the east where I spent the next five years in
Connecticut.
I am the youngest of four kids. My siblings are my ultimate
best friends.
Talents and skills: I love to cook and bake. Everything. I
pole vaulted in high school.
I love children. I was a nanny this last summer and enjoyed
every second of it. Well maybe not every second of it, but I loved the kids and
being able to spend all my time with them!
My dream job is to be a mother. I have always wanted a
family and to be able to raise children. Many women today don’t see motherhood
as a real job, but I cant wait to one day have kids of my own. But what will I
do with my time when I don’t have children? I am on my way to become an
interior designer. A fortune cookie once read, “Chase the dreams that you keep
coming back to” and I keep coming back to wanting to be an interior designer. I
love homes and the renovation and building process intrigue me.
My five-year plan: I am currently getting my associate
degree in business from Brigham Young University-Hawaii. In April I leave for
18 months to serve a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints. I will be serving in the Idaho Nampa Mission. Upon my return
I will then attend Utah State University and receive my Bachelors Degree in
Interior Design. (and hopefully get married somewhere in those five years)
Fun Fact: I have been to 49 states. The only one I haven’t
been to, Michigan. I hope to complete all 50 states by the age of 25.
My favorites: TV show: Downton Abbey, Book: Pride and
Prejudice, Color: Purple Food: Anything my mom makes, or a tie between
Spaghetti and Chinese food.
I have a fashion blog. I love fashion and clothes. Clothing
is a way to express yourself and an outward appearance of your personality. I
love dressing up. To me, my closet is like a puzzle. You can mix and match
pieces until they fit. My favorite accessories: pearls and my gold watch.
I am a closet nerd. I spend the majority of my day at school
or reading a good book.
What is my perfect day? A good morning workout, followed by
a manicure and pedicure. Then I would spend the rest of the day doing various
activities on the lake with my family such as tubing and wake boarding followed
by a big barbecue with our family and closest friends.
Places I have traveled to: I have been to Mexico, three
times, England, Italy, Canada and France. By far my two favorite places I have
been to include Paris, France and Florence, Italy.
So why did I decide to serve a mission?
I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and I dont want to keep it to myself. I have a strong testimony of the restored gospel of Christ. I want to share my happiness and knowledge with world.

Sister Wasden
